Machine Set Up

The machine should be leveled by the four foot screws, to sit firmly on the floor.

The hand-wheel must be assembled to its shaft by the seven M5 capscrews, the heavy star washer, and an M8 capscrew as provided. These should be tightened evenly using the allen keys from the tool kit.

The main machine part may be separated from the stand for transportation, by means of four M8 capscrews, located around the base of the main side plates
Micrometer Dials.

With the machine bed in place, lower each feed screw until the top roller rests firmly on the bed. Zero both dials to the finger marker on outside of feedscrew. Each division of the dial advances the roller .2mm., one full turn; 2.5mm.

With experience. control and consistency of print may be maintained over temperature change and plate and blanket variations. The Micrometer slip ring tension may be adjusted by a small capscrew, sunk in the serrated collar of the dial. Use the smallest allen key provided.

Maintenance

Use Oil provided (Castrol way oil or chain oil) and apply occasionally to the feedscrews via the small countersunk holes positioned to the inside of each feed screw in the steel feed screw block. Keep the screws damp with oil.

Oil may be applied to the hand-wheel shaft bearings (nylatron plastic shell bearings) very occasionally via the oil holes drilled in the top of each bearing block. Should the drive chain need tightening, there are adjustment screws provided acting on each hand-wheel shaft bearing block. Care should be taken to adjust the two blocks up evenly.

The main roller bearings are sealed units however the external housings may need lubrication with oil after some years.
